Brusson offers a wide range of summer and winter activities. In the warmer months, you can enjoy hiking, biking, lake and river fishing, and horseback riding through the woods. During the winter, activities include Nordic walking, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and downhill skiing in the Monterosa Ski area. In the nearby municipality of Ayas, you can also visit the MonterosaTerme spa for a moment of relaxing wellness.

Winter

Downhill Ski Slopes

Brusson features ski facilities in the Estoul-Palasinaz area, offering approximately 18 km of slopes, including 2 blue and 8 red runs, served by 1 ski lift and 2 chairlifts. This location is ideal for families, groups, experienced skiers, and those seeking less crowded slopes with a great quality-to-price ratio.

Cross-Country Skiing

Brusson has long been recognized as a premier center for cross-country skiing, with trails certified at an international level. The cross-country skiing tracks stretch along the Evançon stream, from Arcesaz to Extrepieraz, passing through the Vollon plain.

Snowshoeing

Snowshoes provide a less technical alternative to cross-country skiing, allowing anyone to explore the mountains with minimal effort or difficulty. A key advantage of this activity is the ease of movement in fresh snow, amidst pristine and wild locations.

Ice Skating

The town features the largest outdoor natural ice rink in the valley, covering 1,300 square meters. It is typically open from December to March and is illuminated for night skating. Skate rentals, hockey equipment, and individual or group lessons (upon request) are available. The rink also has an on-site bar.

Summer

Trekking

There are countless walks that lead to the highest peaks, numerous lakes where fishing is also possible, mountain huts, and high-altitude trails that connect to neighboring valleys and alpine refuges. An interesting visit also includes the old gold mine.

Bike

In the area around Brusson, you can bike through forest trails, mule paths, and rural roads, exploring routes of great scenic interest. For mountain biking enthusiasts, there are over 1,000 kilometers of dirt tracks available. In the summer, some ski resorts adapt their lift systems to transport bikes and prepare downhill and freeride trails.

Horseback Riding

Equestrian activities are available at the Brusson Barmasc and Challand stables, offering horseback riding lessons and enjoyable pony rides for children.

Fishing

Brusson offers excellent opportunities for fishing enthusiasts. The Evançon stream, alpine lakes, and various side streams provide ample chances for a rewarding experience in a setting rich with vegetation and natural beauty. The area operates as a catch-and-release reserve.

Year-Round Activities

Climbing

For climbing enthusiasts, the nearest crag is Extrepieraz. This south/east-facing crag features 37 routes that are visible from the road leading to Ayas. The bolting is excellent with resin anchors and the spacing between bolts is never excessive. Both beginner climbers and those at an intermediate to advanced level will find suitable routes, as the more challenging routes have a slightly strict grading. The average route length is 20 meters, with difficulties ranging from 3c to 7b, with an average of 6b.

In Champoluc, 1,600 meters above sea level in the heart of Val d’Ayas and just 10 km from Brusson, you’ll find Monterosa Terme. This facility offers pools, a wellness area, massages, and is well-equipped for a day of relaxation. Located 20 km away are the Saint-Vincent Terme, known for its refined ambiance and special focus on natural products, reflected in the finishes of its spaces and harmony with nature.
